Your Gateway to South Tyrol's Beauty

Summer Holiday in the Ahrntal Valley

Perfect for your hiking holiday: In the Ahrntal, there is a varied network of hiking trails, fixed-rope routes, and theme trails.

The Ahrntal is a unique hiking paradise. As part of the Rieserferner-Ahrn Nature Park, it combines a wealth of scenic highlights, such as the Reinbach Falls, the Klaussee, and mighty giants such as Dreiherrenspitze (3,499 m), Großer Löffler (3,382 m), and Schwarzenstein (3,370 m). A total of 80 three-thousand-metre peaks bring greetings down to our holiday region.

Enzianhof is an ideal starting point for your summer activities: well-managed alpine huts with fantastic views are open to leisurely hikers; mountain climbers, on the other hand, can scale a new peak every day. Just climb up to the main alpine ridge, where you will experience how wonderfully fulfilling it is to hike high over the Ahrntal.

Ahrntal Sun Trail

Explore the sunny side of the Alps in the Ahrntal Valley:

In the past, smugglers were active here – today, the old paths between Luttach and St. Peter are known as the Ahrntal Sun Trails. They take their name from the fact that this extensive network of trails along the Ahrntal always runs along the sunny side of the Zillertal Alps.

From Enzianhof, you can climb right to the Sun Trail that runs above it. From there, follow the trail out of or into the valley at a moderate altitude and look out for the trail symbol (yellow sun). The picturesque trail leads you over alpine meadows from one mountain inn to the next. The whole time, you have a magnificent panoramic view. There are descents to bus stops in the valley at regular intervals, so that you can return relaxed to your holiday village of St. Johann.
